The webinar will be held in cooperation with animal nutrition company Novus International and will encompass a presentation of a new book, ‘Nutrition and production strategies for today’s sows’. The webinar, titled Nutrition and production strategies for today’s sows: Expert insights for performance and efficiency, will feature various well-known speakers.
Dr Carlo Lasagna
The first speaker is Dr Carlo Lasagna, a veterinarian and pork chain manager at the Italian integrated pig producer Martini in Ravenna province. With decades of experience in swine production systems, animal nutrition, and management strategies, he has participated in numerous national and international initiatives focused on optimising efficiency and profitability in modern pig farming. He will delve into the background of the reason for publishing the new book and discuss key challenges in modern sow production.
Prof Dr Hans Stein

Prof Dr Bruno Silva
And the final speaker is Prof Dr Bruno Silva, a leading authority on swine nutrition and environmental adaptation. He is a professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil and coordinates the NEPSUI research group. His research focuses on precision nutrition and strategies to mitigate heat stress, combining animal performance and efficiency goals. He will focus on managing heat stress through nutrition.
