For Anton van den Brink, Deputy Secretary General at FEFAC, sustainability is not optional – it’s a mission. Since 2018, he has been driving sustainability in the feed sector and now serves as a jury member for the Sustainability Impact Award.
As a juror for the Sustainability Impact Award, Van den Brink looks for projects that go beyond the laboratory: “You often see a lot of attention going to certain hypes, but first, let’s see if they can make it out of the laboratory.”
He sees circularity in feed as a key part of the solution. By making better use of by-products and producing more efficiently, the feed sector can contribute significantly to a livestock industry that is both economically viable and environmentally sustainable.
The Sustainability Impact Award, an initiative by Misset International in collaboration with Evonik, VIV, FEFAC and Rabobank, recognises products and services in the feed and livestock sector that deliver measurable and scalable sustainability benefits.
