Feed amino acid markets remain quiet and stable

Global amino acid markets continue to show subdued activity, with FOB China prices steady at low levels. Most Q4 volumes are already contracted, and Q1 deals are progressing slowly. Slight firmness in freight rates contrasts with otherwise calm trading conditions.

Fob China prices have remained consistently low and stable, with no significant fluctuations reported in other regions. While some Q1 transactions are emerging as buyers navigate their risk assessments, activity has generally been quiet this week. Chinese manufacturers are holding firm on FOB China prices without any significant inclination to reduce them further. In other areas, prices are showing stability or weakness, although there is potential for container rates to strengthen in the short-term. Overall, the market remains stable at a low price level, with most Q4 contracts secured and a significant portion of Q1 already contracted as well.

After a slight increase in prices last week, the market has quieted down, with one of the key Chinese suppliers even reducing their prices this week on a FOB China basis. While buyers are aiming to fulfil their Q1 demand, many remain cautious and are primarily on the sidelines. However, container freight showed slight firming in October. At this stage, Q4 is contracted, and a good portion of Q1 is as well.

Current market conditions are largely static across most areas. Although the recent maintenance periods at several key production facilities may have had some influence, prices have remained consistent thus far. This stability applies to both powder and liquid products. With prices holding steady, the majority of Q4 has already been contracted. Both buyers and sellers remain hesitant, primarily observing the situation as they prepare for Q1 transactions.

Tryptophan

The market appears to be further weakening after temporary price stability at historically low levels. A similar trend has been noted in local markets. The price of tryptophan remains at its lowest point on record, coinciding with a rise in new production capacity and a decline in demand this year. Contracts for the fourth quarter have yet to be fully established, and a small portion of Q1 is contracted as well.

Valine

This week, there has been a minor drop in FOB China prices, contributing to an already low overall price level. A decline in demand across nearly all regions has further contributed to local price reductions. Additionally, contracts for the fourth quarter remain incomplete.
